80s style humor and pacing. Loved the camerawork throughout, especially in some of the more cinematic sequences. The final 30 minutes is the most entertaining part and is also where I finally understood all the comments about the number of cars they went through. RIP.

There’s truly nothing that I don’t love about this movie. A message about the human condition that’s never forced and is delivered with impeccable production and acting…I, too, wish I could watch it for the first time all over again. It’s more devastating that way.

Gripping with stupendous acting. I think my biggest gripe, though, is how distracting the war was from the central theme of the journalism following it.

The build up in the first book paid off big time. This was a stunning piece of art that really got me to believe and care about the characters and their story. Everything that happened to every character felt deserved and plausible.

Definitely more enjoyable the second time around. Even if the first was 3 years ago, I think approaching it as a lead up to the second part and knowing it's all exposition and world-building changed a lot for me.

It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. Somehow, it kept my attention even though it was way longer than it needed to be.

I'm not sure how faithfully Yazid's story was told, but, between the acting and direction, I really felt like I was watching his life. I was right there with him, feeling what he felt and experiencing the tribulations he was feeling. More than anything, that's what I feel film is about.

The Fox (2022)

It got me emotionally invested until you realize that there's no possibility for a happy ending. The pacing was a bit off for me, especially the first act, and I wasn't sold on the acting at the climax (yelling "sorry" from the truck).
Good film, overall. Enjoyed it.

Excellent documentary. A bit hard to watch at times, as they show violence towards horses, but it really drives home how beautiful of a man Monty is.
